USCIS Announces Pandemic Signature Policy is Now Permanent
Aug. 4, 2022
USCIS has announced that it will continue to accept copies of original signatures on all forms and documents rather than going back to the pre-pandemic requirement of requesting original ink signatures on forms and documents submitted.
This permanent change is welcomed as it makes the process more efficient, and cuts down on costs of shipping forms back and forth since scanned copies of original signatures can be sent electronically.
E-signatures are still not permitted, and the original signed documents will still need to be retained in the event that USCIS requests to see them.
